This is the most gorgeous dress. I have had this displayed here at home on one of my mannequins and it is a stunner! I think the dress started life as a Victorian glazed cotton gown and has possibly been used in theatre. The dress is large and is made from the most gorgeous floral glazed cotton with a large panel at the front that features embroidered stylised flowers and a raised padded trim. There are pink silk bows on the skirt, one of which is missing one side. The sleeves and neckline are made in silk and the sleeves have the same stylised embroidered flowers and padded trim on them. They also have pink silk bows that do show some signs of wear. The main body of the dress does have damage but this could easily be rectified by a skilled hand. There is also one rather badly done old repair to the front which I have photographed. The back of the dress also does have some wear and a couple of holes but these do tend to get lost in the folds. The corseted bodice has lost the original lacing. It really is the most stunning piece and wonderful for a collector of for display on a mannequin. If you do require more photographs then please do drop me a line as I am limited as to how many I can upload to the listing.
