This is a truly exquisite ladies Edwardian bodice. It is made from powder blue silk with lace and sequinned decoration. The bodice does have faults and I am only selling it for display purposes. There is some splitting to the blue silk and there are several of the hooks and eyes missing. It is the typical Edwardian pigeon breasted shape and has a profusion of fastenings. It is boned inside and has the original makers ribbon inside, which looks to be a German maker. The sleeves are exquisite lace covered in tiny gold sequins. I am no expert on lace but it does look hand made to me and not machine lace. I am sure for a garment of this quality the lace would have been hand made. The bodice displays beautifully on a wasp waisted mannequin and would be perfect for the collector.
