This delightful little reticule dates to around the 1890's. It is so feminine and delicate and is made from beautiful dusky pink velvet. There is a stylised pattern to the front worked in tiny cut steel beads. The interior is lined with silk that has a drawstring top and has two cut steel beaded tassels either side. The little bag does have some age related wear and some damage and I have photographed this. There is some wear to the velvet and a small area of splitting. The silk lining has areas of disintegration especially the lining of the handle, and there is also some splitting to the drawstring pouch inside. The cut steel beading at the base of the reticule has some bead loss. Having said all of this it is such a pretty little piece and perfect for display. It measures 14 inches in length.
