This is an exquisite original Edwardian head dress that I would date to around 1910. The piece is made up from paste stones with two large red faux stones at the very front. There are a couple of paste stones missing at the side so please do study the photographs. I am sure these could easily be replaced with stones from the same time period. The wire head band is slightly misshapen but this is commensurate with age, and at some time the piece has had a black cord attached to it but this could also be removed. On studying the piece I do wonder if at some time there was a feather stitched in at the front as there is a very tiny amount of thread still insitu. This is a beautiful piece and could still be worn today with care. It does fit a human head and can be very gently adjusted.
