This is the most beautiful and elegant Egyptian Revival shawl dating from the 1920's. The outer fabric feels like a lamé fabric and is covered in metallic feeling Egyptian figures and symbols that were all the rage during the period of the 1920's after Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Tutankhamen in 1922. The shawl is lined with teal coloured satin and finished with green silk fringing around the bottom. The shawl is in very good condition and is totally wearable today with care, there are a couple of loose threads although nothing terrible. It measures 210 cms by 37 cms.
