These are a pair of fine lawn cotton monogrammed pillowcases dating to around the Edwardian period. They are very delicate and feminine and still very usable. Each pillow case is decorated with stunning white work embroidery with a monogram in the centre which may be a P and an S although it is hard to tell. Each pillowcase is also trimmed with lace and there are three buttons to close the pillowcase. The lawn cotton is very fine and there are some areas of wear which is age related, and also some very faint marks. I have laundered and ironed these but as they have been stored they will require a freshen up. They starch beautifully and will look gorgeous as part of an feminine French bedroom. Each pillow case has a rounded end and they measure 28.5 inches in length with 3.5 inches lace trim and they are 17 inches wide. The price is for the pair.
