Charming porcelain vase in the rococo style with hand painted panel of furtive lovers on a flamboyant shape with extensive gilt highlighting. Probably mid 19th century and possibly of French origin. Unmarked, the 2 pieces comprising the vase joined with a screw & nut which was most commonly used on the Continent and mainly in France. The two meeting at a window with the woman looking apprehensively over her shoulder. The piece stands 8 1/2" tall and is in excellent condition, free of cracks, chips, crazing, etc. Just the screw and nut are rusted and some light wear tot he gilt decoration.
