Wonderful old solid copper architectural frame in the form of a Torii or gateway decorated with entwined dragons, flowers and fierce foo dogs and a framed plaque with kanji near the top. The detail is sharp and well defined. The visible picture opening is 5 3/8" by 3 5/8" and is probably intended for a 4x6 photo. I've added a color illustration for the listing photos. The frame retains its original copper adjustable easel legs and also comes with glass as shown. It measures approx 9" high by 7 1/2" wide. The overall condition is excellent; there are some minor spots to the patina and the top left part of the gate has an old bend that's pretty much flattened out. No cracks, breaks, or losses. Of Japanese origin, I believe this piece dates to the late 19th or early 20th century - 100 years or more old. Very unusual and quite attractive and interesting.
