"La Vie Sportive / 10 Cartes Postale en Couleurs par Harry Eliott" (The Sporting Life / 10 color postcards by Harry Eliott) published by Collect. Ed. S. Paris. Each card is hand colored with watercolors and portrays scenes of early auto races, horse races, fox hunts, etc. Harry Eliott 1882-1959, French, born in Paris, (real name: Charles Edmund Hermet) largely worked as an illustrator producing pictures for La Chasseur Francais ( magazine that primarily covered hunting, founded in 1885). It is generally believed that he change his name to Harry Eliott to help him gain access to the British art market. Many of his watercolors were used to illustrate postcards for which he is best known today. All cards are shown in the pictures. Cards are numbered 1 through10. All cards are in clean, fresh, near mint unused condition, the wrapper is clean & complete and has very minor wear to the edges just from handling. It's quite unusual to find an entire set of such desirable cards in such nice condition. International buyers must choose the priority mail option if insurance is required. Cards can be sent first class but at the buyer's risk.
