Wonderful action posed Union Civil War soldier cast in white metal with painted patina in fine condition. The 15.5" tall figure shows the infantryman with rifle posed on a base decorated with battle field debris. The base measures 7.75" by 5". There's considerable detail including the straps that hold his canteen that have been applied to the casting, uniform buttons, etc. There's a small brass plaque on the base stamped with the title "ARMY". There are no other markings or signatures apparent. The piece is free of cracks, casting flaws, holes, or other damage. The patina does show some wear in spots but is in remarkably fine untouched condition. It's a bit dusty, but otherwise very presentable. Dates to the late 19th century.
