Unusual glazed stoneware vase made at Gustavsberg by the renowned artist Stig Lindberg. Lindberg (1916-1982) was appointed artistic director at Gustavsberg in 1949 succeeding the great Wilhelm Kage. He remained at Gustavsberg until 1980 when he left to establish his own studio in Italy. This vase features a thick almost crystalline variegated brown glaze applied in stripes so as to leave some of the incised clay body showing through. Marked with the hand & G mark and with the incised initials S.L. along with an additional B over A monogram, 909 and another illegible mark. Stands 4.5" tall. Mint condition.
