We are pleased to offer for sale this exceptional Victorian example of antique French Sculpture. This listing is for a very fine figural bronze of a young boy. It was made by Nicolas Lecorney . It is signed Lecorney. Nicolas Lecorney, from France, specialized in sculptures of young children and was exceptional at capturing their expressions. This piece is an incredible example of his abilities in this area
It dates circa 1880. Victorian gem.
It also has the foundry mark. The bronze was produced in the late 19th century by the French foundry of Susse Freres. This foundry began in 1758. It is still in operation today. It is the oldest Art foundry in France and probably in Europe. The bronze measures 11 inches tall and the base is 4" wide. It weighs 9 pounds. This is the perfect size to grace anyone's home. This work of art has a rich brownish black patina which is original to the piece.
