This listing is for a gorgeous Victorian BRASS Kerosene Lamp / Oil Lamp / Whale Oil. circa 1890’s. This lamp was purchased this past summer at an estate sale in Hartford, Connecticut. It was made by Bradley and Hubbard. They began in Meriden, Connecticut in 1852.
It comes with its original beautifully hand painted floral. shade. The pattern is on the front and back of the shade. The chimney is original to the lamp. It was made by the MacBeth Glass Company which began in 1872. The chimney is marked - MacBeth Pearl Glass No.8.
Measures 20" tall to the top of the chimney. The shade is 10" wide and 6" tall.
This lamp has been electrified. It works. With all electric lamps I always recommend new wiring.
It is something you will add to your collection as a beautiful example of a Victorian lamp. Any white in the photos is from my camera flash. Remember this is an antique item that was used.
