We are pleased to offer for sale this stunning example of American Brilliant Period cut glass. The rare pattern is outstanding. This bowl was made by the Libbey Glass Company. They began in 1880. They were located in Toledo, Ohio. It is signed in the center. I put a sticker over the signature. If you are my age you will need a bright light to see it.. It dates c.1905-10. It would be perfect on any table filled with fruit or salad.
MANY COMPANIES COPIED THE SAME PATTERNS THEN GAVE THEM A DIFFERENT NAME. THIS MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TRULY IDENTIFY THE MAKER. IT IS A BLESSING WHEN YOU CAN FIND ONE THAT IS ACTUALLY SIGNED.
Cut Glass / Crystal. INCREDIBLE PATTERN. Hand blown, wheel cut, hand polished. Cuts are quite sharp. Many of the cuts are deeply cut and double mitered.
Measures 7 7/8" wide and 4 1/8" deep. Weighs 3 lbs. 14 oz. Glass is 3/8" thick which tells you its age.
It is in excellent antique condition. Glass is a brilliant clear. Any white in the photos is from my camera flash. Remember this is an antique that was used. It has the tiny pin pricks here and there.. Please examine the photos very carefully to add to my description. Ask all needed questions before purchase.
PHOTOS DO NOT DO JUSTICE TO ITS BEAUTY.
