This listing is for a RARE Boston and Sandwich Glass kerosene / oil flared cone shaped student lamp shade circa 1870’s.
INCREDIBLE NAUTICAL / MARITIME SCENE THAT GOES COMPLETELY AROUND THE ENTIRE SHADE. You can actually see the men on the boats. Amazing detail. Colors are as bright and vibrant as the day it was made. Cream colored background.
This translucent opal glass shade is hand painted.
Shade has a double ringed top.
Gold tracery is on the top and bottom rims.
The shade comes with its original brass fitting inside the top rings to hold the light bulb.
Measures 10" wide x 5 1/2" tall. The inside of the top rim is 2 3/4" wide.
This truly must be a one of a kind. We have been collecting Boston Sandwich Glass for 45 years and have NEVER seen another one like this.
A MUST FOR THE SERIOUS COLLECTOR.
