Victorian Etruscan Love Knot Earrings
Lovers Entwined. These very rare Victorian Etruscan Love Knot Earrings in 14 & 15 Karat are romance personified. The Love Knot is a symbol of loyalty and unending love - with no beginning or end to the knot. These Love Knot earrings consist of two 15 karat gold circles entwined and beautifully detailed with scrolled gold wire work that is dotted with a drop of gold in its center. Adding to the metalwork of each earring are two gold diamonds - one accented with a tiny emerald and the other with a tiny seed pearl. Each gold diamond may possibly represent the head of a snake - bringing to life the theme of "Eternal Love" within each Love Knot. A perfect gift for the bride-to-be or the love of one's life.
Earrings measure 11/16" long by 7/16" wide and are fitted with lever back ear wires for a secure and comfortable fit. Please note there are two small puncture holes - one in the back of one earring and one on the far side of the other earring. The one in the back is not visible when worn due to it's position. The far side puncture is not be visible from the front, only from the side - and if worn facing one's jawline, not visible at all. Neither puncture hole distracts from these truly spectacular earrings, which are an exquisite example of Victorian Love Knot jewelry. They also transition from day to night seamlessly.
Weight of earrings is 3.7 grams (2.4 dwt). Earrings are not marked, but test 14 karat (ear wire) and 15 karat (love knot) - but look much richer, more like 18 karat.
