Chunky square links encircle the neck in this marvelous modernist sterling silver necklace by the venerable Danish firm Han Hansen which was founded in 1906. The deep links are like shadowboxes, with their depth giving the necklace visual interest and significant weight. The necklace has an unusual clasp, a thumbscrew that securely fastens it. The links connecting each square are positioned towards their top so that the squares flare out around the neck and don't roll forward.
