Cultured pearls form the luminous centers of flowers and buds in this lovely basket brooch/pendant. The basket, flowers, and foliage are beautifully modeled in sterling silver and accented with marcasites to give subtle sparkle. The basket handle gracefully swoops from back to front, forming a bail that allows it to be worn as a pendant.
While there is some variation in tone between the pearls, the large pearl isn't quite as yellow as the photo suggests and is a better match to the other pearls.
SIZE: 1-3/8" wide x 1-7/16" high
AGE: 1930's or 40's
CONDITION: very good vintage condition. There is a minor kink in the pin stem which does not affect its functioning. There is a little glue around a couple of the pearls suggesting that they have been re-glued in the past but this is only visible under magnification.
