This lovely antique Victorian French paste stick pin has a collet setting that is hinged to the pin with a watch hook on the back. The cushion-cut paste stone has incredible sparkle and is set in an open-back crimped collet setting. The hinged back and the watch hook make this piece very versatile. It could be worn on its own as a stick pin, or as originally-intended with a small watch hung from it. However a charm could be hung from it or the pin could be removed and it could be worn as a pendant.
SIZE: 4" long. The paste stone is 3/16" diameter, with the setting it is 5/16" diameter.
MARKS: The French boar's head hallmark, signifying 800 silver or higher. There is also another partial mark on the pin, which was probably a maker's mark
MATERIALS: Silver, paste
CONDITION: very good antique condition. I've kept the dark patina on the silver but it could be easily polished.
