This is a fabulous 1940’s Native American Navajo concho belt hand forged concho’s with scalloped edges and sunrise stamping inside the scallops. The center of each concho has a s cross with a natural turquoise stone on the center. The size of the turquoise nuggets that are set in serrated bezels measure 13 x 8 mm. averages; smaller turquoise stones are 6 x 8 mm. average. There are seven of these oval concho’s and they are separated with crossed arrow shaped conchs that also have stamping and a center natural turquoise stone. There are seven of these smaller silver pieces. The belt the conchs are attached is black leather and the oval conchos have two copper slides that you can adjust to the size you need for a custom fit. This is an older example of Navajo artistry. Not marked but tests sterling. There is some age related tarnish but the last two pictures are of some cleaning I did to the conchos and I really don’t take the time to clean because many like the patina.
Ovals are 3 x 2 ½”, arrow shapes are 2 ½ x 1 ¼”
Leather Belt: 39 ½ x 1”
Weight: 374.50 gr. (silver without leather belt)
