The romantic, Art Nouveau, nature of this beautiful, French, bronze clock with lovers is what makes this clock so special. It is inscribed 'A Toute Heure, Bonheur!' which translated means 'At Any Time, Happiness'. It is and unusual clock in that it has a beautifully designed, 1/8" bronze plaque on the front and the rest, including the stand is covered in brown leather. It measures
6 3/8"H x 4" W and weighs 385.8 grams. The face measures I 3/8" across and has enamelled gold hour and minute dots as well as a circle of pale mint green enamel under the clock numbers. There are very fine surface cracks on the clock face that can barely be seen (I never noticed them until I saw them through the macro setting of my camera). I purchased this fine clock a good 20 years ago and it never had a key at that time, so I'm not sure if it works or not - I was happy to have it sit there and look beautiful. I am not a watchmaker or know of any and cannot tell you if it works or not, once wound, so it is being sold "as is". It seems to be all original except for 1 tiny replaced screw on the back bottom left corner. The clock is not signed anywhere that I can see, but it is a rare beauty.
Because I have had time pieces returned with irreplaceable parts missing, this clock cannot be returned, so please do not purchase it unless you are or know a watchmaker or just love the look of it, as I did.
