An enchanting Victorian snake band ring, set with a two-tone sapphire and diamonds, in 18Kt gold, circa the 1840s-1880s.
This fabulous piece has been expertly crafted out of 18 karat yellow gold in the form of a serpent or snake and has been bezel set with an oval cut bicolor blue and white sapphire measuring, approximately, 1.5 carats. Complementing it are 7 round old mine cut diamonds, totaling, 0.34 carats together. All the gems have very good color and clarity.
The cocktail ring is in excellent antique condition showing expected signs of wear. It has only been lightly cleaned to maintain its look. Mentioned for accuracy there is some scuffing to the table of the sapphire that does little to detract from the overall fineness of the piece. it weighs, approximately, 5.28 grams and is US ring size 5 1/2 (UK ring size K 1/2). The face of the ring measures 0.73 inches (1.85 cm) wide by 0.45 inches (1.15 cm) tall. It is not marked and tested positive for 18K gold.
