Introduced in 1901, this lovely clear 6" vase is U.S. Glass Company's #15071. Known as VIRGINIA aka BANDED PORTLAND, it was the twenty-fourth pattern in U.S. Glass' State Series line.
There are no chips, cracks, or repairs.
REF: It is shown on page 251 of Early American Pattern Glass Cake Stands & Serving Pieces by James/O'Brien.
Quality control as we know it today did not exist in 100+ year-old glassware which usually exhibits some of the following: shear lines (straw marks), mold lines, bubbles, embedded ash or impurities, rough mold seams, & manufacturing variations. These irregularities are generally not considered flaws and often times help authenticate the date of production.
As I like my customers happy and satisfied with their purchases, I welcome and encourage any questions and will gladly provide additional pictures.
