Antique Georgian Mourning Brooch Hand Woven Human Hair.
Incredible piece dating from the Georgian Period between the 1700s to the early 1800s.
The setting is beautifully hand etch decorated and serves as a protective box for the hair work.
There are no marks but has been tested to be higher than 10K gold and slightly lower than 14K, so I am assuming it is 12K or higher.
It has five lovely pear shaped dangles that are hand woven hair and gold beads that are amazing.
There are places with some damage one in one of the dangles and the other at the top hair bar in the pin.
Please see third picture and last two pictures, difficult to capture on camera.
I have tried to capture both in pictures. In my opinion neither distract from its beauty and place in time (approx 200 years old) but accounted for in pricing. It is truly a Remarkable piece and should be in a collection.
The pin has a tube hinge, "C" clasp and long pin. It also has a ring for a watch.
Weighs 7.7 grams
Measures 2 1/8" in the center, top measures 1 1/2" x 3/4" .
