Fine Quality Copper American Powder Flask Circa 1860. Classic bag-shaped form, with a deeply embossed and finely detailed, central, raised, standing, Stag design with a central embossed "trophy" of a Stag’s-head mask (similar to Riling No. 988/990). Fabulous design with Hunting Dogs and Fox with an Art Nouveau design. Retains its four (4) suspension-loops. Done in Copper with a Brass top. Top marked "A.M. FLASK & CAP Co.", the marking for the famed American Cap & Flask Company of Waterbury, Conn. Complete with its four iron suspension loops. There is one large dent as can be seen in the picture of the back (and can probably be fixed by a professional restorer...but, why would you? Retains its place in history) In overall wonderful condition (see note above). Both sides with sharp and deeply embossed decoration with fine seams. Of very fine quality heavy gauge copper. A very nice American Cap & Flask, Co. powder flask, ca. 1860. Measuring approx 8" x 3 1/2".
