Paris Pre War Travelers Paris Souvenir Edwardian Art Deco Era Wide Bracelet. Dating from Pre War Circa 1920's and 1930"s. This lovely Silver plated bracelet is the widest one I've ever come across and makes quite a statement! It shows 5 embossed background Silver plated panels featuring 5 Famous and popular Landmarks of Paris - Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central panel depicts the Armorial Crest of Paris (Coat of Arms) and a garland saying 'Souvenir de Paris', Sacre Coeur at Montmarte, and the Arc de Triomphe. Each landmark has a banner garland underneath describing what it is. Extending from the panels is a length of chain to allow for variable sizing. The chain hooks into the end panel very neatly and securely. The chain ends with a round coin type souvenir depicting the Eiffel Tower. The reverse of the bracelet is marked with a clear Crescent & Star Maker's Mark (not a silver hallmark) indicating it was probably made in Algeria. Algeria was a French colony and made many souvenirs for the French and Parisian tourist trade. Measuring 1 1/2" wide (4cm). The Length of the Panels measure 6 3/4" length (17cm). There is Extra chain for adjusting the sizing approx 1 1/4" (3cm). Wearable length ranges from 7" (17.5cm) to 8" (20 cm). Weighing a hefty 49.6 grams. There is very little wear to the Silver plating but has a Lovely Patina. I did try to shine the back of one panel and it shined beautifully, but I will leave that up to the buyer as I adore patina. Wonderful Condition!
