An almost complete sterling silver flatware set for 8 of Towle Candlelight , circa 1934. Candlelight was designed by one of Towle's top designers, Harold E. Nock (1874-1952). This is an early Art Moderne pattern that can grace any contemporary formal dinner table. There are 7 serving pieces; 1-pie server with a steel blade, 1-sugar spoon, 1-meat fork, 1-jelly spoon, 1-pickle fork, 1-lemon fork and 1-sauce ladle. The utensils are: 8-dinner knives with stainless steel French blades, 7-dinner forks, 7-salad/dessert forks, 11-teaspoons, 7-iced tea spoons, 5- round bowl soup spoons and 8-individual butter knives. This is a gently used service that was purchased in the late 1930's of a modern pattern that was so popular, it was produced from 1934-2009.
