Chinese 19th Century Blue and White DishChinese 19th Century Blue and White DishChinese 19th Century Blue and White Dish

A nice Chinese 19th Century blue and white dish painted in the popular, earlier Ming Dynasty style. The underside has a hand-painted seal and three Fly Whisks, which symbolize the Buddhist admonition, Do Not Kill, also Magic and Leadership. It is 6 7/8" in diameter and in fair condition; there are 5 chips on the underside of the rim and, on the surface there are a series of drill marks, which appear to have been done to test its age. The over all glaze has a greenish tint that almost looks like celadon. This piece may be older than 19th C.
