A Chinese 19th Century porcelain dish that is beautifully hand-painted in a blue and white design representing a butterfly above a tree peony. The painting style is done in homage to the popular earlier Ming period. The underside has a hand-painted seal and three fly whisks which represent the Buddhist admonition Do Not Kill, also, Magic and Leadership. What looks like a chip on the rim is a production flaw, otherwise, this 7.75" diameter dish is without chips, cracks or repairs.
