A mid to late 19th Century Chinese Export brush pot/cachepot with rosewood stand. Hand-thrown and hand-painted in 4 colors. Two dragons above a pagoda reaching for a flaming pearl surrounded by flames and clouds. The Dragon symbolizes the Emperor, Yang and Eternity; the Flaming Pearl, is Pure Intentions, Feminine Beauty and Purity. The flames symbolize the Yang Principal; the clouds are Beneficial Rain and Fertility. The Pagoda influences good geomantic influences. It measures 4.5"h. by 4 7/8" diameter and has discoloration and crazing on the length of the backside (images upon request) Otherwise in very good vintage condition with no cracks, chips or repairs.
