A lusciously colored Art Deco powder box attributed to Charlotte Rhead Who worked as a designer and pottery decorator for Bursley Ltd. between 1921-1926. It is hand-painted and tube decorated. Tube decoration is a method much like cake decoration. Glaze is inserted into a tube and forced onto the object, leaving a raised design which is then filled in with color. The interior of this beautiful art pottery has a yellow lustre glaze. It measures 4" high by 5 3/8" diameter. In great condition, no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs.
