Here is an exquisite blue topaz set in sterling vermeil. The stone is the star of this ring. It is an exquisite color of turquoise blue like the color of a Carribian sea! This topaz must have a lot of copper in it because it sure looks very much like the color of Paraiba tourmaline! It tested very strongly and positive for blue topaz. The topaz is set securely in 4 prongs. The band is done in a soft gold was vermeil over sterling silver. You will find the .925 stamp on the inside of the shank. The width of the shoulder is about 7-8mm and the width of the back of the shank is about 3mm.
Measurements on the blue topaz are 16mm long by 12mm wide which translates to about 7 carats. The ring size is 6.5-7. Since this is a vermeil item, you probably would not want to have it re-sized because it may cause a problem with the vermeil. Total gram weight is 6.2 grams.
I took this ring to a jeweler and had it polished since it had more tarnish before. It still has some light tarnish marks so it is not in completely perfect condition. The stone dominates this ring so you don't really notice the band. Other condition issues are some light scratches and some wear to the face of the stone if you look through a 10x loupe. These issues are not obvious to the naked eye, it looks really good!
This is a dynamite look for a very good price!
