Here is a very high quality vintage ladie's pearl and diamond lapel pin, circa 1935. Purchased from an estate, this pin was purchased on a trip to Japan during the 1930's. It features one large cultured white pearl and 1/2 carat of white sparkling diamonds.
There are 17 diamonds altogether. Fifteen of the diamonds are located in the ribbon swirl design. There are 2 larger diamonds that accent the pearl to one side. The pearl measures approximately 7-8mm across. It is white with a slight golden hue. It still has a beautiful glow and patina.
It is a small pin and measures about 1 inch across and about 1/2 to 5/8 inch high. The pin mechanism is in good working order. This unmarked pin has been tested for 14kt.
This pin would look very sweet on the lower shoulder of a dress, blouse or sweater. I think it would be a great candidate for a renovation into a pearl clasp for a gorgeous vintage string of pearls. I think it would be possible to have a jeweler make it into a pearl clasp for a necklace or bracelet.
