These sterling vermeil pins have to be one of my favorite types of vintage costume jewelry available on the market. They are large and in charge yet very slim and light-weight. They are very whimsical and fun and they can still be had at very reasonable prices. The best part is they're sterling! These sculptural designs are from the 1940's, another favorite in terms of fashion and jewelry.
This particular brooch features a lovely 2 flower with leaf design in gold and deep true green. One flower has open petals to reveal a large round green paste stone. The flower in the middle has overlapping petal points with 3 small round stones in the same green color. One 3-point leaf accents the flowers. Stems and a curling long leaf finishes the design.
The gold vermeil is in good condition with the typical age patina you find on these pins such as slight pit dots and slight scratches. There aren't any major issues. The pin mechanism is in good working order. The sterling mark is found on the back of the long swirling leaf.
Overall length is 3.5 inches high by 2.5 inches wide. The total weight is 24.1 grams. I apologize for the reflection in the photos! These pieces are like little mirrors!
