Purchased from an antiques dealer, I was told this was an antique bloodstone in 14kt and it was from the Victorian era. I believe it is a moss agate set in 14kt yellow gold and is from late 1800's to early 1900's. Please see all the pictures I took and you can see I've captured the beautiful veining and colors in this old stone.
The brooch is large and measures approximately 1.5 inches wide by almost 1.25 inches high. The beveled stone alone measures about 1.25 inches wide by about 1 inch high. The stone has beautiful earth shade colors or rust, cream, gray, yellow, black and greens.
The condition is very good to excellent. The gold has tested positive for 14kt yellow gold on this unmarked brooch. Origin of manufacture is unknown.
