This is a Very Nice Russian Black Lacquer Brooch with a Hand Painted Scene of Horses pulling a Sleigh. The Colors include Red, Green, Blue, and White on the Black Lacquer. It is Signed but I cannot read it. A helpful person who is knowledgeable in Russian wrote me that the 1st word is "Mstera" which is the name of the village where the pin was produced; it is 1 of 3 former centers of religious icon painting, all of which switched to secular themes after the Russian Revolution. The 2nd word Troika is a vehicle pullef by a 3 horse team. Thank you, Jane!
The Brooch is Oval in Shape and Measures 2 3/8" across x 1 5/8". It has the Safety Pin Style Closure. When looking through my Eyepiece, I can see that there is Cracking to the Lacquer, so priced low!
