In spite of its age, this woven splint basket would still make a great picnic basket today. Apparently it is very hardy, since it has been around for 60 or so years and still is in very good shape. The basket is 18” wide, 11 ½” deep and 9” tall. It has a slatted wooden top and bent wood handles. Sometime during its life, a child must have claimed this for his/her own, because a name has been written on the top of the lid. Inside of the lid is impressed with the name and logo Wov-N-Wood Jerywil inside a cartouche. There are also remains of elastic bands which held picnic items. The basket is in very good condition with expected stains and discoloration for its age.
These would be a wonderful decorative item, picnic or sewing basket or an addition to your nostalgic collection. Please contact us if you have any questions.
