The 1950s homemaker used this style of aluminum sieve and wooden pestle or food mill to make all kinds of meals for the family. This is still a useful kitchen item today for making jams, jellies, cream soups, or other pureed foods. Of course, it can serve as a strainer or colander as well. This is the “deluxe” model, since it comes with a stand. When the sieve is in the stand, it measures 11” tall. The sieve is in very good condition with some stains as seen in the pictures. The pestle shows wear on the tip and the wood has darkened with use. The legs of the stand and the handle of the sieve have some oxidation on them.
This would be a great addition to your mid-century kitchen collection or to use every day. Please contact us if you have any questions.
