It’s a shame that Griswold is no longer in existence, because their skillets were superior to anything you find today. I cook with a lot of cast iron, and none of mine are of the quality of this wonderful 6 ½” skillet. It is marked with the large cross logo on the bottom and has the heat ring, both of which testify to its age, this one dates somewhere between 1897-1930. The bottom reads: Cast Iron Skillet, 3, Griswold (in the large cross), Erie, PA USA, 709A. The skillet is 10 ½” from rim to the end of the handle and is 1 3/8” deep. The surface of the skillet is very smooth with no rust. There are some run marks in skillet and have to assume that they are from a bad pour in the mold.
