This hand-wrought pewter pitcher has so much character – from the lion finial on the lid to the upright curved spout to the curvy applied handle. The pitcher stands 7” tall to the top of the finial, is 5 ½” from spout to handle, has a 2” diameter mouth, and is approx 3” wide in the body. It’s not terribly large, but it is substantially made, weighing 1 lb. 6 oz. It is roughly made, but that makes it so charming. There is an indentation all the way around where the spout is attached to the pitcher; I don’t know it that is by design or if it was pushed in somehow. I don’t see how it could have been pushed as substantial as this is, but pewter is malleable. The finial leans a bit; I think it could be repaired with heat, but that lean is just part of its history. I believe this is a fairly old pitcher and is in expected, used, hand-made condition.
