L. E. Smith Glass was established in 1907 in Jeannette, Pennsylvania. They were best known for producing the first headlight lens for the Model T Ford. They began manufacturing colored glass in the early 1920s. Moon and Stars, originally named Palace by Adams Co. in the late 1800s, was one of the most popular patterns they made. L. E. Smith was purchased by Owens-Illinois in 1975, and was later acquired by William Kelman in 2005 and is now known as Smith Glass Co.
This green fairy lamp stands approximately 6 ½” tall and is 4 ½” in diameter at the widest point. There is a small, smooth chip on the foot near a mold seam, otherwise, it is in excellent condition.
