What a find! Can't you just see your great granddaddy sitting on his porch pushing the unnamed parts of a hog through this press and making sausage for his family? It's short enough that he may have had his grandkids do the honors. This wonderful homemade press shows the markings of being hand planed and sawn. All the parts still freely swing as you lift the arm to add more meat or fruit. It stands 17 ¼" tall, is 23" wide, and 6" deep. The sieve is made from tin and attached with screws and nails. This very substantial piece has so much character; it would look wonderful sitting in front of a fireplace or, because it is so narrow, it could even sit on a sturdy shelf since it weighs a little over 10 lbs. This shows all the wear and charm of a fine primitive piece.
What a conversation piece. Please contact us if you have any questions.
