Satin down comforts, something that evoked glamour and luxury, were the rage in the late 1940s into the ‘50s. Apparently, the owner of this one loved it so much that she had it refurbished, which is something I didn’t know could be done. Attached to it is a tag that states “Not for Sale. Owner’s own material which is second-hand material. New material added in re-making.” It was altered by Alden Comfort Mills in Plano, Tx. The owner’s name is typewritten on a tiny piece of paper and stapled to the tag, all of which makes this very interesting. This soft, shiny comfort measures 78” x 68. The satin shows no signs of wear; no tears, holes, pulls, or rips. There is one tiny spot and then a 4” spot that we just discovered while taking photos to list it for sale; it is hard to see with the shiny fabric.
