This microscope was a wonderful gift to some 1930s scientific teenager! It stands 7 ½” tall and is made of cast iron and brass. It still has some of its glass slides and, best of all still has its original box. The label on the lid states that the microscope is the Key to Hidden Wonders and that it magnifies 80 times. On the bottom of the box, there is a tag showing that the instrument was made for Kress’s, a popular dime store at the time. The box definitely shows that this piece was used a lot, but it is still intact. The lid is quite fragile and has loose pieces of cardboard and has lost some of the blue paper cover the lid.
This would be a fascinating addition to your children’s or toy collection or to display as a scientific instrument. Please contact us if you have any questions.
