This covered butter dish would be such a charming piece to use in a country kitchen. The dish measures 6 1/8” x 5 3/8”. The center of the dish as well as the groove that the lid sits in has been glazed to prevent the oil from the butter or cheese from soaking into the terra cotta. The top of the lid has a cow standing in grass. There are a few rubs on the lid and stains inside the lid, but there are no chips or cracks on the dish or lid. The piece is about 3” tall with the lid. Even if you did not use the dish for it’s intended purpose, it would be a wonderful decorative item.
This would be a darling addition to your country table or primitive collection. Please contact us if you have any questions.
