Beswick made the Shakespeare Series of pottery mugs and pitchers from 1948 to 1972. This wonderful jug features Falstaff in a scene from The Merry Wives of Windsor. The colors are still strong and vibrant. The pitcher stands 7 ¾” tall and is 7” from the handle to the lip. There is some crazing and discoloring on the inside but there are no chips or cracks. The piece is marked Beswick England and incised with the number 1126 on the bottom.
This would be a great addition to your pitcher collection or to use as a decorative piece. Please contact us if you have any questions.
