These small three-dimensional prints were probably very inexpensive, popular prints during the 1940-50s era, but are now getting very hard to find. The embossed prints are from paintings that were done by the prolific cat artist from France, Daniel Merlin (1861-1933), and each little picture bears his signature in the bottom corner. Measuring 6” x 4 1/8”, the print is in its original frame and still has the original, very fragile dust cover on the back with a sticker that contains the company information: Atlas Embossed Picture Co. Inc., Exclusive manufacturers of Atlas “Embossarts”, Pictures in Third Dimension, New York, NY. The color is still very strong in the print, and the piece is in very good, vintage condition.
We have another print listed that would make a great companion to this one (see the last photo).
This would be a charming addition to your cat collection or to decorate with. Please contact us if you have any questions.
