What an unusual thing to decorate with – a printer’s block. Before today’s electronic printing, the printer’s blocks were really pieces of art with the engraved design on the metal plate. This plate is a graphic for printing materials for the Lions Club. On the left side it says Lions Club and on the right side is a globe with the words We Serve circling the globe. The block is roughly 6 1/2” long, 1 7/8” tall and 3/4” deep. The engraved plate is mounted on a wooden block. The plate was used in printing, since it shows residue of ink on it but is in good vintage condition with the exception of some green oxidation which may indicate that the plate had copper in it.
This would look cute as a desk or shelf decoration, mounted to a board or used as paperweight.
