My dear, talented friend has lost her husband and experienced a health setback, so she has given up her home and moved away to live with her daughter. I have accumulated many of her works of art and am offering these pieces for others to enjoy. We’ve handled many hand painted pieces over the years, but until I studied Diane’s rosemaling, I hadn’t appreciated the great detail that goes into a piece!
This 6 1/4” tall wooden napkin holder would be a great addition to your country kitchen table, or it would be a wonderful decorative piece. Done on a soft yellow background, Diane has executed the most detailed bird is shades of blue nestled in a floral pattern done in shades of brown, gold, green and blue. The subtle shading is exquisite. The front and back of the holder is trimmed with a thin blue and brown line and is signed at the lower left Vera Diane ’84. The 6 ½” wide 3 ¾” deep napkin holder has been used over the years as it has a few dings and smudges but that just adds to the character of the piece.
This would be a great addition to your folk art or rosemaling collection or to use every day. Please contact us if you have any questions.
