This wooden bank is just too cute. Probably from the 1920s when you could travel for a few dimes, this suitcase-shaped bank was a reminder of a good time had by travelers to Birmingham, Alabama. On the front are pyrographic pennants from London, Los Angeles, Paris, New York, and Miami. Hidden under the leather strap on the top is the slot for depositing your coins; two screws on the bottom have to be removed to collect your savings. The bank measures 4 1/8" long, 1 ¾" deep, and 2 ½" tall. The color of the pennants is still very strong. There are a few wear marks, but that is to be expected on something with this age; it only adds to the charm.
What a wonderful vintage piece to add to your collection. Please contact us if you have any questions.
